The Role:

• As Risk Manager, you will help safeguard the business and keep material risks under control.
• Responsible for building the ERM Framework, establishing and quantifying the business ‘risk appetite’.
• Assess the risk exposure through gap analysis.
• Analyse identified risks as a basis for required remediation.
• Report risk and associated metrics appropriately to stakeholders at all levels.
• Ensuring appropriate corporate governance to safeguard the business.
• Review risk documentation regularly to ensure they are compliant with internal and external requirements.
• Early identification of emerging risk through horizon scanning.
• Key contact point and liaison for all internal and external auditors.
• Provide support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the business.

Skills:

• Must hold a professional qualification: Institute of Risk Management. Qualified Accountant or Risk Professional. Governance-related degree.
• Financial Services experience is essential. Preferably worked in an insurance setting.
• Commercially aware with the ability to understand broad business issues.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to be a collaborator and team player.
• Negotiation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
• Problem-solving and decision-making with a proactive and preventive approach.
• Analytical skills with a good eye for detail.
• Technical acumen with the ability to react quickly and think on your feet.
• Resilient and the ability to cope under pressure.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Numerical skills and the ability to evaluate costs.
